It was the summer of 2003, and I stumbled on a site with gorgeous Japanese fanart of Seto & Shizuka while hunting for Yuugiou images. It was my first encounter with this pairing and I instantly became a fan ♪ Fanfiction further fueled my obsession for this pairing, but I was sad to find only a handful of sites dedicated to this pairing.
In the fall of 2003, I discovered the world of fanlistings, and was shocked to find that there was no fanlisting for this relationship! So I eventually gathered up the courage to apply for it and got approved :D Silentshipping, my first fanlisting, was officially born on December 31, 2003.
The site started off as a humble fanlisting, but I was getting many fanworks sent in from my lovely visitors, who wrote about how they loved Seto & Shizuka too ★ It motivated me to turn this site into the best Silentshipping shrine on the internet :3
For about a year in 2004-05, I split up the shrine and fanlisting and during that time, I gave the shrine a new title: Stolen Kisses. I liked how secretive and romantic it sounded, and how it also shared the same initials as both characters (S.K.). But I eventually recombined the sites and kept the Silentshipping name for my
empire entire site.
Although the Yuugiou fandom died with the end of the series in 2004, this site represents so many memories - both good and bad - of those golden days when the fandom was at its peak. I ran another popular Yuugiou fansite during those days, and was able to convert many non-fans over to Silentshipping through that site XD
Fear my convincing rambles! Although I've since closed that site, I don't think I'd ever be able to part with this site~ this is my baby site and my baby OTP ♥
Realistically, Seto & Shizuka will never be, but they continue to live on in the fandom. Hopefully through my site, I will be able to convert non-fans into Silentshippers, and make this your one-stop resource for Silentshipping ♪
